We see what they are made of and how they can be transformed into new rocks. There are uses for rocks and ways to identify the rocks we see around us every day.
Speaker: Mike Dormer, born in Zambia, on the Copperbelt, followed his Dad around Southern Africa, from mine to mine. This is where his interest in rocks, and then geology started. Landing up in South Africa, in 1974, having been ejected from Zimbabwe, Mike started work with Caterpillar agents Barlows and was due to see a lot more mines. Particularly on the West Coast and then much further afield. Mike has retired to Franskraal and is currently a member of the Overberg Geoscientists Group.
