20 days to go! Let’s bring you up to speed on the final preparations for The 2012 EXPEDITION Project:
Vehicle:
Our Isuzu Trooper is almost ready to attack 2012! Our logos and our new roof rack with shade awning will be going on this week.
Equipment & Gear:
We now have our Live GPS courtesy of TomTom, our GoPro arrived this week ready to be fitted onto our 4×4 and our clothing & accessories from Quiksilver arrive tomorrow! Camping & outdoor gear as well as 4×4 accessories will be collected from Cape Union Mart, Outdoor Warehouse and Game this week.
Local & International Team:
Maddy Savitt arrives from London on the 31st of December just in time for a quick New Year’s Eve party and then we are off on the 1st of January 2012!
Accommodation & Food:
73 accommodation establishments have signed on to support us with a bed throughout South Africa and 51 food providers, restaurants and cafes have generously sponsored a meal for the team! This support has been tremendous and will be extremely vital to making the 2012 expedition a success.
Publicity & Filming:
Warren and the Firestarter team will be doing a quick pre-departure film shoot on the 19th and then on the 31st of December and the 1st of January. Following that it will be up to the expedition team to capture footage via the GoPro and handhelds until Firestarter meets up with us 3 days per month for filming.
Our website is receiving some final touches before 2012 including the addition of all our sponsors and our social media platforms are prepped and ready for an onslaught of activity come 1st January 2012!
Viruvent in Cape Town will be taking care of live streaming and online events for us and have some great ideas, competitions and campaigns planned for 2012! Can’t wait!
