Selecting only 2 students per two weeks, the Zululand Rhino Experience aims to bring conservation to life with a combination of rhino rehabilitation, pangolin protection, plus wildlife vet shadowing. The experience includes the following highlights…
Clinical EMS:
Observe/participate in clinical procedures (when possible)
Rhino de-horning (when possible)
Husbandry skills:
Wildlife handling
Wildlife observation
Wildlife and / or captive routine health care
Wildlife conservation:
Assist with wildlife rehabilitation
Human-wildlife conflict, anti-poaching, and conservation techniques
Conservation in the community:
Wildlife education
Environmental conservation

I had the most amazing two weeks at ZRO!! It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to work up close with such a rare and beautiful species. I loved getting to know each of the individual rhino orphans and it was a privilege to play a small part in their upbringing. The ZRO team was so welcoming and really helped me feel at home there. The support from Roger at TEP prior to and during the trip was second to none!

It was an amazing experience with the most wonderful baby rhinos! My friend and I were there for two weeks and it was incredible! Each of the rhinos have such a different personality and they are so adorable! The whole team at ZRO were always super helpful and made ups feel like part of the team! We also had Roger’s support during the whole experience (even when our flights got delayed). I loved working with the team and all the babies!
