This was the first course I did from the Wildlife Vet Online series, and it only geared me up to keep completing more!
The content is so nicely laid out, especially with the notes written up – especially useful as I like to read information rather than hear it being said.
The pdfs are an extra bonus too, as I can now have the information whenever I want!
Dr Peter talks with such expertise, care, and enthusiasm it’s hard not to keep clicking session…even at 1am in the morning!

  2. Yashaswini (RVCZS)

Royal Veterinary College, London, United Kingdom

Such an amazing course! was formatted in a user friendly way, and was very engaging with wonderful real-life anecdotes from Dr. Rogers alongside some wonderful videos and pictures to help us learn effectively. Also very useful pdf downloads for later revision.

The cheetah module was such a wonderful introduction to the wildlife vet online series. The course gives you exactly the right amount of information to satiate your need for cheetah knowledge and also leaves you with enough brain space to get excited for learning about all of the other species!

The course is broken down into very thoughtful topics which means that it is easy to leave and come back to the information without feeling any time pressure. Once you buy the course then you own it and always have access to it meaning that when I hit a busy period, I was able to go back and start again when I had more time on my hands; it also means that you could reference the materials in the future!

The course materials are presented in an accessible way for a range of learners~ there were the videos to go through meaning that you had a voice to listen to and guide you through but there were also course notes that complement the videos. Dr Peter Rogers offers such an interesting wildlife perspective and it was great to know that we are getting such relevant and current teaching from someone who is in the field and using these techniques day-to-day. It is also wonderful to have a down to earth teacher who is really inspirational and makes you feel like a wildlife career is accessible (when it often doesn’t seem that way).

There is so much additional support as you are able to ask about any additional queries or concerns during the Q&A live streams (accompanied by some hilarious stories!) and you can also contact the course teacher if you have any additional questions. Definitely looking forward to completing many more courses over the coming months!

The first of many amazing wildlife vet courses! Dr. Rogers has so much knowledge on South African wildlife and he does an amazing job in sharing this information in a clear and concise yet extremely interesting way. The case studies provide the perfect opportunity to consolidate all your learnt knowledge and apply it to a real life scenario. There is also so many opportunities to get in contact with the course makers with any questions you have or to talk about any of the topics within the course! It is extremely worthwile for anyone considering veterinary medicine as a career.

This was the first module I completed and it was a brilliant introduction to the wildlife vet online courses! If you’re interested in big cat conservation then this is a great way to gain more in-depth knowledge. Dr. Rogers has learned so much through his years of working at HESC in South Africa & he’s laid it all out in these lessons for veterinary students to further their knowledge. I particularly liked the case study and it made me look forward to maybe one day being able to work with these fantastic animals.

  6. Katrina (DVWCS)

    RDSVS, Edinburgh, Scotland

So impressed with the range of information delivered in this course from neonatal care to anaesthesia best practice. It’s the best crash course for cheetah medicine a vet student with an interest in wildlife medicine could ask for! The lessons are in the form of short follow along videos but very comprehensive transcripts are available too, making the information great for learning in bite sized chunks. The quizzes and case studies provide opportunity to test yourself so that you can go back and easily revise any material you feel you need. I can’t wait for the opportunity to use this in practice!

  7. Joanna Elizabeth (DVWCS) (verified owner)

    RDSVS, Edinburgh, Scotland

The cheetah module was the first one that I completed (in my car because I couldn’t wait to get started!) and it was brilliant. It really solidified my faith in these online courses for providing succinct, informative and helpful teaching of the veterinary management of African animals. A really great introduction to a fantastic set of courses by The Expedition Project!

  8. Edsel (DVWCS) (verified owner)

Being my favourite African cat, it surprises me as to how much more I have to learn about these magnificent felines, and this course delivered wonderfully. Being the first course I completed in the Wildlife Vet Online series, what impressed me most is the Extra Credit tasks, which remind us that, beyond the practicalities of veterinary work, we too have the power to educate, and this part of the course offered just that! Giving me the ability to create a poster or presentation on cheetahs for one or more of the four groups: children under 16, pre-biosciences students, vet students and even local communities; something indeed to learn for everyone!

  9. Hannah (DVWCS) (verified owner)

This course is amazing and was so fun to do. This is the first course I completed and I really enjoyed it. I found it so interesting and everything I have learned from it is so interesting. The course is set out really well and is very easy to follow with videos and a transcript available. I would thoroughly recommend this course for anyone who is interested in wildlife or just wanting to do something a little different!

  10. Emily (DVWCS) (verified owner)

    RDSVS, Edinburgh , Scotland

This is a great all-inclusive course talking about pretty much everything you cold imagine with cheetah management. Since this is one of the shorter courses offered, it is a good introduction to the type of content TEP offers us as students, and besides that, it is extremely interesting! Cheetahs were one of my favorite animals growing up, so to learn about their care in this detail was absolutely fascinating. I hope to work with wildlife over the summer, and after taking this course, I feel fully prepared to get my hands dirty. I loved this module and can’t wait to continue learning more from Dr. Rogers

  11. Max (RVCZS) (verified owner)

Big cats are some of my favorite animals. The Cheetah management module was my introduction to the online wildlife vet courses and a great opportunity to learn about the biology, ecology, treatment, and conservation of the fastest land mammal. As a first year veterinary student, I have little clinical knowledge or experience. Dr. Rogers and the TEP team organized the course in a clear, comprehensive way which allows even the most novice wildlife medicine enthusiast to understand the material and learn it on your own time. If you are looking for a good course to start on, this is the one!

  12. Daniella (DVWCS) (verified owner)

    RDSVS, Edinburgh, Scotland

This was my first online veterinary medicine course, and it was fantastic! It was super interactive and felt as though I was learning in person. This course provided an in-depth, applicable insight into the world of cheetah conservation and medicine. I also love how I can always go back and reference it when needed in the future. Overall – I recommend to any wildlife lover!

  13. Jordanne (NUVZS) (verified owner)

    Nottingham, United Kingdom

The cheetah management course was the first course from TEP that I have completed. The course is well designed, very informative and also very enjoyable! Dr. Rogers is very knowledgeable and this reflects well throughout the course. The course is broken down into topics, which makes it very approachable. There are videos and written notes available which you can work through in your own time. Once you have purchased the course, you can always use it as a reference in the future which makes it an extremely valuable resource to have. The TEP team are brilliant and I would recommend this course to anyone with an interest in African wildlife and conservation. Can’t wait to start the others!

  14. Elli (RVCZS) (verified owner)

The cheetah management course was an incredible opportunity to experience wildlife medicine from the comfort of your home. Dr Rogers provided clear and manageable classes open to you to complete in any time-zone or at whatever pace you need. Being a 2nd-year veterinary student, with many placements cancelled and being stuck in quarantine due to the pandemic, this has been an incredible resource to keep my motivation to learn and passion alive for veterinary medicine, in particular, wildlife medicine in South Africa. The TEP team is so helpful and always willing to answer your questions and queries. If you are interested in wildlife medicine, conservation or just like African wildlife… Sign up now; they are just a click away!

  15. Josh (NUVZS) (verified owner)

    Nottingham, United Kingdom

This course was so interesting as before I didn’t really know much about cheetahs and didn’t even know they were struggling. I really like how this and all other courses start with a species rundown to get you well acquainted with the animal in question regardless of your previous level of knowledge. Dr Rogers is a very clear teacher and by linking everything he explains to actual hands on experience he not only demonstrates what amazing work he and his team are doing, he makes even potentially dry and academic parts exciting and real. Highly recommend this course to any vet students unable to find placement due to lockdowns.

  16. Orla (LUVZS) (verified owner)

This Cheetah module was the first I completed and it was absolutely amazing! The information was so interesting and the layout was easy to follow. Also, as you can access the information whenever you want, it is a highly valuable resource to have, especially if you’re interested in working with wildlife in the future. Dr Peter Rogers is a fantastic teacher and I’m excited to learn more from him. I loved the videos as it feels like you are actually there working with him. I would highly recommend and I can’t wait to complete the next module.
