About your Teacher:
With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Peter Rogers is considered one of the most experienced wildlife veterinarians in the world. He specializes in the capture and veterinary care of some of South Africa’s most endangered species, including the southern white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, African elephant, cheetah, African wild dog, African lion, Temminck’s ground pangolin, and many other species. About Wildlife Vet Online:
These courses are designed to be online versions of selected wildlife medicine experiences available in South Africa. We’ve collaborated with projects to create a practical road trip in the form of the Wildlife Vet Experience, an exclusive package just for training vets and vet nurses that is both affordable and of high quality. Dr Peters does an amazing job at teaching all of the content and also brings along some fantastic and extremely interesting stories to go with. Once again a brilliant course delivered by Dr Peter Rogers!! I had already enjoyed doing the part 1 rhino revolution, so decided to also do this part 2 – it brilliantly continues the first course with in depth information about dehorning and orphan care. The footage of Dr Rogers working in the field continues to amaze and inspire me! I don’t know about anyone else, but I find the comparison of white and black rhinos recovering from anaesthetic so interesting and hilarious – cannot wait to one day see it in real life! Thoroughly recommend this course to anyone interested in working with rhinos!!
Nirvana (DVWCS) –
If you’ve finished Part 1 and are wondering whether you should do Part 2? The answer is, absolutely! One of my personal favourites out of all the courses available so far. In this module, you learn about dehorning, which Dr. Rogers covers in a way that’s simple to understand without losing any detail. I thought the case about wound care was particularly impressive, including loads of images and videos that kept me engaged throughout!

I loved this two-part course! I had lots of fun learning about rhino conservation and watching Dr Rogers work through wildlife veterinary technique. The modules are easy to digest with both written manuscripts and videos. Dr. Rogers goes into depth about his experiences with anti-poaching and de-horning, which really gives you insight as to how horrible the situation is in Africa. I really enjoyed this module and recommend this to those interested in conservation or wildlife medicine!

Another fantastic module! Just the perfect amount of information and it has only made me want to work with rhinos even more. I found the section on orphan care particularly interesting. Learning about the devastating impact of poaching is upsetting but Dr Rogers and his colleagues are an inspiration and I hope to be able to do what they do one day.
