Yet again Dr Peter and the team have done an excellent job in presenting information in a well thought-out, engaging way!
The case study was an incredible add in too; as a vet student it really allowed to me put together what I had learnt in the course alongside my own knowledge from my past few teaching years at university!
    A fab course…bring on part 2!

  2. Yashaswini (RVCZS)

Royal Veterinary College, London, United Kingdom

A very fun and engaging way to be introduced to wildlife medicine, with beginner-friendly resources to help with Rhino identification and the basics of treatment relating to them. The course was formatted in a way that was conducive to learning and revision, and really helped me better understand the unique challenges involved with treating wildlife! I’d reccomend this as a great way to learn outside the classroom for anyone who’s curious about how wildlife vets use clinical reasoning.

An extremely interesting and engaging course. You will learn so much amazing and interesting information from a world renowned vet. All the information is presented in a clear and concise manner that makes the learning so much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this course and all the wildlife vet courses for anyone that is interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.

Absolutely loved this rhino course!! As always Dr Peter Rogers is so engaging and knowledgeable on the subject!! The information is presented so clearly and concisely in the notes which makes the material so easy to learn!! Love the case study section – makes you test yourself on the material and really feels like you’re with the team when they have footage of the darted animal!!

  5. Nirvana (DVWCS)

    RDSVS, Edinburgh, Scotland

I was really keen to complete this module to learn more about what part veterinarians play in protecting rhinos in South Africa – and I wasn’t disappointed. All the lessons presented by Dr. Rogers were in-depth, covering multiple topics but was still easy to follow throughout. I really feel like the lessons compliment things I’ve learnt in vet school, particularly anaesthesia. The course includes a brilliant video case study you can work through to solidify your knowledge from earlier lessons. Dr. Rogers shares his experiences so candidly, giving you a real sense as to how much he treasures working with these animals!

  6. Edsel (DVWCS) (verified owner)

    RDSVS, Edinburgh, Scotland

The extensive knowledge and experience of Dr. Peter Rogers in the veterinary care of rhinos is clearly shown over the two courses he delivers on them, covering everything from anesthetics to orphan care, and even the differences between how the two species of rhinos behave – if that’s not enough he even explained under what conditions would there be a swap of behaviours between the two! Amidst the isolation COVID presented, it doesn’t hinder me from preparing myself by learning as much as I can about them, being all the more ready when restrictions ease and I can apply this knowledge practically!

  7. Jade (DVWCS) (verified owner)

    RDSVS, Edinburgh, Scotland

Another engaging and informative course given by the highly-experienced Dr Peter Rogers, allowing veterinary students from across the world (especially during a pandemic) to learn about this amazing species. The clinical depth this course takes is impressive, from drug mechanisms to basic facts about Rhinos – nothing is missed! Information is displayed clear and concisely and there are also case studies and assessments to test your knowledge as you go! Also perfect for a variety of different learners as information is presented visually, by audio and practically! Really enjoyed this one!

  8. Emily (DVWCS) (verified owner)

I love watching these courses! Being able to apply knowledge that I’m learning in vet school to the real world, and to such interesting species has been a great learning tool. I’ve been thoroughly engaged throughout the entire course. I especially enjoyed the case study at the end of this module, it lets you apply the knowledge you have learned to a real case and test to see what you have learned while watching. I would highly recommend all of these courses, but the rhino course is great to start to apply everything you’re keaning in school, and through the online course itself!

  9. Sierra (RVCZS) (verified owner)

I loved the rhino course! You can really tell that they’re one of Dr Rogers favourite species as he has such a deep understanding of them and such a passion for their protection. The course has so much information but it doesn’t feel overwhelming at all because of how well explained everything is and how every piece of knowledge is linked to Dr Rogers many first hand practical experiences. There are numerous case studies throughout which show you exactly the kind of vet work that goes into protecting this endangered species and really makes you feel like you’re along for the ride. 10/10

Really interesting course for those interested in wildlife medicine. It’s great to watch the videos of Dr Rogers working in the field, to see what it’s like out there! This course is really well set out and explained, with plenty of information to learn. The case study section was my favourite part as it was great to feel involved with a case and work through it. There is such good support from everyone at TEP if there are any issues and if you need any extra help. Definitely recommend!

The course covers relevant topics of rhino immobilization and management for aspiring wildlife vets. Through the numerous videos and the case study, which gets you to review and use the knowledge you just acquired, one can get a great insight into the work of a wildlife vet.

Once again, another really exceptional course by Dr Peter Rogers. There was plenty of information in this course and each section was broken down into easily digestible chunks. Dr Rogers is clearly passionate about teaching about this wonderful species and takes a good diversion from the previous cheetah course that I conducted.

This course covered all of the key basics for Rhino triage, first aid and ‘first opinion’ (If there is such a thing!) meaning that it was such a wonderful introduction into the Rhino Species. I am very excited to embark on part 2.
