What a great course, the information is presented in a clear, logical and easy to follow manner. Not too much clutter and just the right amount of explanation! Really excited to see what is to come in the other modules.

  2. Edsel (DVWCS) (verified owner)

Take up tranquilizer gun, shoot elephant, work on it, then leave it be. Or at least, that’s how I initially thought it to be. Who knew how different they can be from rhinos in terms of anaesthesia, and who knew their ears can be so practically helpful! Looking forward indeed to the second part of this elephant course!

  3. Jade (DVWCS) (verified owner)

    RDSVS, Edinburgh, Scotland

A truly helpful and informative clinical-based course, perfect for veterinary students or veterinarians to gain an invaluable insight into the species differences involved when working African Elephants! Can’t recommend enough!

I loved this course! I had so much fun learning alongside Dr Rogers while he worked through wildlife veterinary technique regarding elephants. The modules are easy to digest and encourage active learning! I would highly recommend to anyone interested in conservation or wildlife medicine!

An amazing, informative and interesting course. All information given is clear and concise and the quizes really help to consolidate your knowledge. Looking forward to part 2!

  6. Izzy (NUVZS) (verified owner)

    Nottingham , United Kingdom

Really impressed by the latest module from Dr Peter Rogers. Not only am I impressed with the course content (again!) but I am really grateful for the consistency in the courses: I now feel that I have a good foundation of knowledge for all the species taught so far in some of the most pivotal topics. Dr Rogers gives you knowledge of the species in great detail which could be used in the future and, unlike some other courses, I don’t think that he holds back any information and you really do feel like a wildlife intern! Once again, this course is really gripping, however, this course has the wonderful addition of some amazing videos that I can’t imagine you would find anywhere else. Could not recommend this course more to anyone wanting to study Wildlife Medicine.

  7. Josh (NUVZS) (verified owner)

Really enjoyed this course! There was plenty of interesting and useful information but as usual it didn’t feel over stuffed or confusing. Dr Rogers explains everything so well and his years of experience are obvious in the clear and concise way he delivers the information. I particularly enjoyed the section of the module on the relocation of elephants as this is something I had heard about but never imagined that that was how they did it! Fascinating! Learning about different anaesthetic mixtures was also very interesting having just covered that topic at vet school. Overall a great course that reaffirmed my love of wildllife medicine and I can’t wait to do part 2!

  8. Nirvana (DVWCS) (verified owner)

    Edinburgh, Scotland

Another cracking course – it is full of in-depth clinical knowledge, while also being packed with the important practical elements that are so critical when working with wildlife. I particularly enjoyed getting to grips with the different drugs utilised in elephants and how wildlife vets must work to mitigate the complications that come with treating such a massive animal. Excited to get started with Part 2 in the near future!

  9. Clio (NUVZS) (verified owner)

    Nottingham, UK

Really great course to learn the basics of wild elephant care/management. A good foundation to take further into practical courses or more theoretical study, especially for those interested in careers in wildlife medicine. Can’t wait to do part 2!

  10. Heather Parsons (verified owner)

I had searched for a while to find an online course to learn about elephants. I have absolutely no
veterinary background but found the introduction video fascinating. The course is packed with the
the practical guide for wild elephant care and management. I’m already looking forward to taking part in unit 2. Dr. Rogers also gives case studies where you see the actual techniques in action. An excellent teacher.

  11. Layla Ruggles (verified owner)

Another fantastic course from Dr. Peter Rogers!! Provides a great introduction to the basics of veterinary elephant management, and in bite-sized quantities, so you can learn at whatever rate suits you! As always I love the downloadable pdf notes which means I don’t need to worry about writing notes in the lessons and can sit back and enjoy the videos! I particularly like seeing the case studies, to cement what I’ve learned in the lessons! Am excited to start part 2 🙂

  12. Elli Verrocchi (verified owner)

    Royal Veterinary College, United Kingdom

Once again, an incredible module from Dr. Rogers. He created a very easy to understand and broad guide to caring for African Elephants in South Africa. A first-hand account on the front lines of managing a species so iconic to people worldwide. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in elephant medicine and conservation. Very excited to see the next instalment (African Elephants Part 2).
