THABANG Children’s Project is a South African private Non-Profit- and Welfare Organisation, that aims to meet the needs of children affected by HIV/Aids and Poverty.
To empower family structures through health education
Thabang, run by Tessa and Ethan, is just what you would expect it to be – a warm place for children and youth to call home indefinitely. They have a fully operational pre-school and teen boarding house as well as a youth centre. Partially funded by the Department of Health and Social Development, it is a project that requires the support of the community in which it resides, however without government funding would not be in existence.
At Thabang, they value commitment to serving the needs of their beneficiaries, they value mutual respect of people and properties, they prioritise their vision and mission, they value transparency, honesty, integrity and accountability, they encourage participation of thier beneficiaries and staff, and they value equality of all human being.
Values To empower family structures through health education and Home-Based care services, advocacy to families and communities, through a partnership with other stakeholders
Mission To provide centres for the reception, care and development for orphans and vulnerable children and youth
Vision “THABANG is an organisation that empowers children, families and communities to restore their dignity and independence”
