Yesterday an old female giraffe died from old age. She was identified as Laetitia by the heart pattern on her neck patterning. Over 30 vultures circling directed us to the carcass. 5 cameras have been set up around her carcass to monitor scavenger activity. The beauty of nature is that she will provide food for vultures, hyena, jackal and dung beetles. The scavenging guild is so important to keeping the bush free from disease. Thanks to Gabrielle Reyes for the awesome drone images. We will be posting any footage of scavengers caught on the cameras. #thecircleoflife #conservation #foodforthescavengers
