De Oude Pastorie is the oldest house in town and was the first parsonage of the Dutch Reformed Church in Victoria-West.
In the north of the mountains is the Karoo, which is characterised by wide open stretches of land, gently rolling hills and huge ostrich farms. Each season has its own unique charm and the spring flowers, the ripening fruit in the summer, the red and gold colors of autumn and the snow-capped mountain peaks in winter in the Victoria West area.
The Little Karoo (Klein Karoo) is the southwestern part of the Great Karoo, the central high plateau of South Africa. The Little Karoo is a broad, elongated plane. It is bordered to the north by the Swartberg Hills and to the south by the Langeberg and Outeniqua mountains.
