Ambassador Profile – Kellyn Whitehead, Nature’s Valley Trust, Garden Route, South Africa.
Hi, I’m Kellyn – Kellyn WhEcological Scientist for Nature’s Valley Trust in Nature’s Valley, South Africa. I have been a part of The Expedition Project team since 2021.
Since 2021, I have been doing live streams and developing online courses in collaboration with The Expedition Project and their partnering South Africa projects and Ambassadors around the world.
Kellyn began her journey with NVT in March 2014, as a volunteer, and since then has been a member of the team as a post-graduate student and in November of 2015 become a core staff member. She heads up the Fynbos research programme for NVT and manages the internship programme as well as assists with the conservation education and community awareness programmes.
Originally from Jo’burg, Kellyn has since made the Garden Route her home. Her love for nature began at a young age and since then she has tired to do her bit to help conserve biodiversity and has a passion for sharing her knowledge with anyone willing to listen.
Kellyn studied at Stellenbosch University where she completed her BSc. and BSc. Hons. in Biodiversity and Ecology and her MSc. in Pollination Ecology from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
