62 days to go until our foundation EXPEDITION 2012!
We had three fantastic meetings this week with three very different but potentially very exciting TEP partners.
The first was with Johann and Sunette from Discover South Africa – a web-based travel agency specializing in South Africa in the following ways:
- Maps
- Tours and Safaris
- Accommodation
- Vehicle rental
Discover South Africa is looking to join the EXPEDITION Project in order to further advertise their successful accommodation SMS service as well as its brand as a whole. Could their name fit our project any better? Actually, maybe it can – we’ll have to ask them to change it to: ‘Re-Discover South Africa’, don’t think they will go for that though.
Our second meeting was with Mike from the MSC – Marine Stewardship Council – the world leader in benchmarking sustainable fishing practices and fishery certification. We are looking to link up with the MSC for our COASTAL Project so that we can gather some useful data on the state of fishing on our South African coastline
Our third meeting was with Vivian from SANBI – South African National Biodiversity Institute. Vivian is a passionate lady with the best job title: ‘Director of Biodiversity Education and Empowerment’. SANBI is an ideal partner for our ENVIRONMENT Project as a whole and a link-up would mean our research would be put to good use. We can also develop exciting projects together. Our visions are aligned and our passions are unquestionable. Fingers crossed on this one! Did I mention that this would also be our connection to The Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) – finally!
To come this week – another busy one:
- MotivateCape Town
- What’s Up Cape Town
- Save our Seas
- FTSA – Fair TradeSouth Africa
- Greater Good
- And hopefully, we will eventually get to see Maria Vasco about our events projects
That’s it for this week, but…
Until next week!

Cape Town, South Africa
